CIRCUIT MEETING
As hinted in last month’s newsletter, things are not proceeding smoothly with the replacement of Mark, Geoff and Nel when they leave the circuit (for their various reasons) in September 2006.  In order that we can all have input into what we need to tell the district, a circuit meeting has been called for Wednesday, 22 June at 7.30 pm at Brimington Common.  Please – will ALL churches make every effort to be represented, each church has at least three representatives on this meeting so it should be possible for at least one to be available.

AN OUTING…
…has been arranged by the folk at Brimington Common to see the

“Christmas Extravaganza Show”

at Thursford (Norfolk) on Saturday, 26 November (matinee performance)

This is an excellent show and well worth the travel.  Show tickets cost £21.50 and the coach fare is £9 (a total of £30.50 for the day out).

To date we have approximately 16 seats left – please phone Glenda Hives on 231622 to book a place or find out further details.

My family and I have been overwhelmed by the love and care shown to us from the whole circuit during our time of bereavement.

For prayers, cards, letters, flowers, cakes and many acts of kindness we say a heartfelt “Thank you.”

Donations in Bill’s memory amounted to £600.  This has been shared between the Diabetic Association and the Coronary Care Unit at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Thank you to all who have contributed so generously.

Mrs Ivy Brookes would like to thank all in the circuit who have sent cards phoned and remembered her in their prayers during her recent stay in hospital.  Thanks to Gillian, Mark and David for thir visits.

All these kind thoughts are very much appreciated.

As I sit and write this on behalf of Ivy on Sunday 22 May, she has just phoned to say that she is now at home and praying that she will be well enough to go on Christine and Denis’ holiday to North Wales.

Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement and when his plane arrived there was a limousine there to transport him to his home. As he prepared to get into the limo, he stopped and spoke to the driver. "You know" he said, "I am 87 years old and I have never driven a limousine. Would you mind if I drove it for a while?" The driver said, "No problem. Have at it."
Billy gets into the driver's seat and they head off down the highway.
A short distance away sat a rookie State Trooper operating his first speed trap.  The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone.  The trooper pulled out and easily caught the limo and got out of his patrol car to begin the procedure.
The young trooper walked up to the driver's door and when the glass was rolled down he was surprised to see who was driving.
He immediately excused Himself and went back to his car and called his supervisor.  He told the supervisor, "I know we are supposed to enforce the law But I also know that important people are given certain courtesies. I need to know what I should do because I have stopped a very important person."
The supervisor asked, "Is it the governor?"
The young Trooper said, "No, he's more important than that."
The supervisor said, "Oh, so it's the president." The young trooper said, "Not, he's even more important than that."
The supervisor finally asked, "Well then, who is it?"
The young trooper said, "I think its Jesus because he's got Billy Graham for a chauffeur!"
